Find the problem before buying the solution
Air sealing addresses unwanted air movement; insulation slows heat flow through the building envelope. They work together, but they are not interchangeable. A home assessment can help identify which improvements matter most.
Include ventilation in the plan
A qualified assessor can use a blower-door test and other checks to locate leaks and evaluate ventilation. Moisture and combustion safety belong in that assessment. Do not block intentional ventilation openings or combustion-air supplies.
Compare the project, then check programs
Use an estimate to explore possible savings, then confirm the scope and price with a qualified provider. Check incentive requirements before work begins; eligibility and application timing vary.
