Who we are
The Utility Bill is an energy and household-cost publication operated by Synkompass Media LLC at 101EnergySavingTips.com. We use cartoons and satire to start conversations, then connect readers with explanations, calculators and rebate resources. Synkompass also operates CalculateEnergySavings.com (CES) and GetEnergyRebates.com (GER).
Where the joke ends
Our cartoons and fictional advertisements are satire. Invented officials, exaggerated situations and cartoon dialogue are not reporting or real quotations. Factual companion articles should stand on their own, with sources readers can inspect. Fictional advertisements are labeled; they do not represent an actual sponsor.
How we explain the science
We aim to distinguish evidence, assumptions and opinion. Examples are illustrative unless identified otherwise. We link supporting sources, show important limitations, and avoid presenting a calculator estimate as a measured result or guaranteed saving. Dates matter: check current prices and program rules before acting.
AI and original work
AI tools assist with some illustrations, drafting and site development. Generated scenes are illustrations, not documentary photographs. We remain responsible for what we publish. Our aim is original characters and visual direction, not reproducing another artist’s work or impersonating a real person.
